My wife and I moved to the area not too long ago and we had a bunch of friends come visit us. We all visited Greece a few years back and naturally wanted to relive some of those memories. We came for dinner in early July and the staff easily accommodated our party of 7. Our waitress gave us a lot of suggestions and we ordered the dips, haloumi (sadly out of saganaki), and Greek salad. All were tasty. The 1L of house wine for $29 is truly remarkable. The hit of the night was definitely the mixed platter which, if you order apps, I feel like I could feed 3 to 4. My favorites were the gyro and chicken souvlaki which had a beautiful char. With tzataiki and ample lemon, I was singing with each bite. We took home a lot of leftovers! If I'm ever looking to entertain a large crowd, I know where to take them.
I was recently chatting about the difference between regular Greek salad and horiatiki, and maybe I was guilty of saladsplaining. In lieu of attempting to explain it, I would simply direct novices to the horiatiki here, with an excellent feta. The oil and vinegar is a fine salad adornment that also works well with the pita. The "small" was generously sized. I enjoyed the pork gyro pita. Next time I'll be back in platter mode for lemon potato reasons.
Delicious food, and very sweet staff and ambiance. The Greek salad and dips are great, and the lamb is wonderful. The food holds up for delivery service as well, definitely a staple in the Long Island City/Hunter point area!
Stopped in for lunch and the food was very good. Chicken gyro was fresh and flavorful. Restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. Would recommend.
Ordered delivery service from Vernon's food truck in Manhattan. Very efficient from UES to UWS (~30 minutes), order instructions were followed, and fresh ingredients used. Fresh ingredients are used and Vernon is not skimpy on the protein portion! Greek salad with the grilled chicken added still was under $20, whereas other businesses make you spend $30+ on similar choices. 10/10
My review is based on my take-out experience. I ordered a pork gyro with french fries on the side. The servers were nice when I went to pick up, no issues. They have a lot of add on features for your dish which is great. The add ons come with a small fee. The pork gyro and fries were good, very filling! I could not eat my next meal since I was still full. The food is definitely worth the price.
Clean interior, fast and friendly service, filling and delicious Greek food, what more could you want? I was visiting this neighborhood and stopped in for a quick dinner - got their chicken gyro pita. The chicken was very well cooked but not too dry, with the perfect amount of onion and tomato to balance it out. The pita bread was heavenly. Left feeling full and satisfied. It was about $15 with tax and tip. Only annoyance is they charge a 3.75% credit card free.
This restaurant is not in my neighborhood. It's honestly by chance that I stopped by here considering all the restaurants in the area were full Ambiance: 5/5 Quiet, clean, no loud music. Overall we enjoyed it because we could all just sat down and chat and didn't feel like there's a pressure to leave Food 5/5 I am not a big fan of Greek food, but I like the soup and sausages. The restaurant delivered both very well. The soup was creamy and the sausages are very tasty.
I never really go to any restaurants before checking the Yelp page but we stopped here for a bite after a nice stroll through Gantry Park and had a great experience. Our waitress was super friendly and kind enough to bring my dog a bowl of water as soon as we sat down. The menu is pretty standard for a greek spot. We got a gyro and a platter. The portions are pretty huge. You get a lot of food for sure. The veggies are fresh and the meat is seasoned to perfection. The lemon chicken soup was a pleasant surprise and it was delicious. Our experience was great except just the last bit where our waitress charged us for the wrong amount and we had to get recharged the right amount. Aside from that hiccup we enjoyed ourselves!
